Blackout, written by Kent resident Derek Boyes has made The Big Pitch 2008 final shortlist.
The film is set on Kent’s own Isle of Sheppey with the moody atmosphere of the marshes providing a perfect backdrop for the film.
The Big Pitch is sponsored by a number of high profile film industry companies including Ipso Facto Films, Moxie Makers, Soda Pictures, Moviehouse Entertainment, Skillset, Molinare and the North Lights Film Festival.
Derek and his script were chosen from 15 short listed projects to be one of six that will be given the opportunity to proceed to the next stage of the competition.
These final six will be admitted to a comprehensive training and development programme which will enable them to complete the final stage of the competition ” the live pitch. The overall winner is presented with a £250,000 production finance deal from Moxie Makers, a post production deal with Molinare, a distribution deal with Soda Pictures and international sales representation with Moviehouse Entertainment.
The Big Pitch takes place in November 2008, where the Kent Film Office wishes Derek Boyes every success!
