Alex Polizzi is back to sort out Britain’s hotels

A new series of The Hotel Inspector sees Alex Polizzi visit the Walpole Bay Hotel in Margate to help the owners give the hotel a new lease of life.

Alex Polizzi is a hotelier in her own right as well as the niece of Sir Rocco Forte owner of The Balmoral Hotel and Brown’s Hotel amongst others and using her

knowledge of the industry, she advises owners of hotels and Bed & Breakfasts on how to spruce up their tired businesses and attract new customers.

Walpole Bay Hotel is located near Margate and was built in 1914. It still retains some of its original Edwardian features despite being extended in 1927 and it’s sprung, maple floor ballroom is still used today. Will Alex be able to help improve the hotel?

Margate is a delightful seaside town with a sandy beach, harbour, arcades, and period housing with lots to offer including galleries, quirky shops and trendy cafes. Margate is a popular film location having previously welcomed productions such as BBC One drama True Love (2012), The Apprentice (2009) and feature film Last Orders (2002).

The Walpole Bay Hotel episode was shown on Monday the 13th July 2009 at 9pm on Five.
