Kent County Council’s  Kent Film Office have announced a development fund which will provide £200,000 a year, to support film and television projects from script development to investing in productions wishing to locate their filming in Kent. This followed the success of KCC’s pilot investment in The Calling starring Brenda Blethyn by Ramsgate based Maeve Films.

Production companies and individuals wishing to apply for the fund will be able to do so via an online form which we are planning to make available on the 1st September 2009.

In their application projects will need to demonstrate how an investment from the Film Office will translate into tangible economic benefits for the county, this can include using having a production base in Kent, using Kent locations, hiring locally based crew, providing training opportunities for Kent residents.

Please note as of 2012, the Kent Development Fund is closed.  For more information about funding please visit: http://kentfilmoffice.co.uk/filming-in-kent-2/funding-and-talent-development/
