DIY SOS: The Big Build is the popular BBC show where the team take on large scale renovation projects to help families in need of expansion, including everything from extensions and conversions to full scale re-models.

Now in its twenty third series, Nick Knowles and his team visit the Morris family in Maidstone to help transform their house. The family are in desperate need of house renovations after royal engineer and paratrooper Mo was given a medical discharge due to damage to his knees and can no longer walk unaided. In constant pain and with Mo relying on others to help him get around the house, the DIY SOS team are on hand to assemble friends, family and local trades, transforming the house and giving Mo his independence back and taking the pressure off the whole family.

Maidstone is the county town of Kent and has thriving shopping areas and parks and nearby stunning countryside and attractions such as Kent Life and Leeds Castle. It is also home to the Maidstone Studios, the UK’s largest independent High Definition TV studio facility which has hosted filming for TV production such as Later…With Jools Holland (2013), Take Me Out (2010 – 2013) and The Biggest Loser (2012).
