The renowned BBC One antiques programme Flog It!, presented by Paul Martin, is coming to Kent on Thursday 17th July 2014.

Antiques show Flog It! is now in its thirteenth series and will visit Chiddingstone Castle, near Edenbridge for the show’s valuation day where the public are invited to bring up to three antiques and collectables; they might be intent in selling.

Once valued, the owner and a team of experts decide whether an object should go forward for auction. If the item is chosen, it is included in a sale a few weeks later- hopefully when the auctioneer’s hammer falls its owners make a tidy sum. Everyone who goes along to the Valuation Day will receive a free valuation- even if their antiques are chosen to go forward for auction.

The show recently made a significant find when Aboriginal Broad Shield, that had been kept hidden away in a Flog It viewer’s wardrobe, was brought to light at a valuation day in North Lincolnshire and went on to sell at an auction for £30,000. The TV series also uncovered an unusual Royal Doulton Spook figurine in Blackpool, originally bought at a car boot sale for £2; it went on to sell at the auction for £5000.

Louise Hibbins, series producer, says: “Paul Martin and the entire Flog It! are really pleased to be bringing the show to Chiddingstone Castle. We always receive a warm welcome when we came to Kent, the castle and gardens will provide the perfect setting for our filming; our experts are all looking forward to welcoming people along for their free valuation in such impressive surrounds.”

Paul Martin, Presenter of Flog It! said: “I previously visited Chiddingstone Castle in 2011 when Flog It! made a film about Denys Bower the former owner, this was very well received by our audience and I’m delighted to be returning to this beautiful location. Hopefully as many people as possible will come along to see us with their items for valuation.”

Paul Martin will be accompanied on the valuation day by Flog It! on- screen experts Adam Partridge, Thomas Plant and Claire Rawle.

Flog It! will be at Chiddingstone Castle, Hill Hoath Road, Chiddingstone, Edenbridge, Kent TN8 7AD on Thursday 17th July 2014 between 09.30am and 4pm.

The items selected at the valuation day will go under the hammer on Wednesday 13th August 2014 at Ewbanks Auctioneers, Burnt Common Auction Rooms, London Rd, Send, Woking, Surrey GU23 7LN.
