Rory and Will – Champions of The World is a brand new Channel 5 series which sees Rory McGrath and Will Mellor competing in the most unusual World Championship events held across the UK to see if they can win a new world title – the challenges they face include onion eating, thumb wrestling, coin-tossing and crazy golf.

In the second episode of the series, comedian and writer Rory McGrath (They Think It’s All Over) and actor Will Mellor (Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps) visit Hernhill in Kent to take part in the prestigious wheelie bin racing event.

The whacky event takes place every year in July and sees teams of four race against each other by pushing modified, standard wheelie bins along with pure man power and drinking a half-pint of local ale at each checkpoint. Will the guys be able to take the title?

Hernhill is a historic village in Swale surrounded by countryside and only 3 miles away from Faversham which has welcomed filming from Great Expectations (2012) Our Food (2012) and upcoming Channel 4 drama Southcliffe.

The Hernehill episode of Rory and Will – Champions of The World will be shown on Monday 4th February 2013 at 21:00 on Channel 5.

ITV is cooking up a feast as comedian Ade Edmondson takes a culinary road trip around Britain.

The show follows Ade as he takes his land rover on a trip around Britain. On his travels he meets some of the people behind the many famous local delicacies in the country. As well as a love for cookery, the comedian delights in local British culture. Throughout the show Ade experiences many traditions and customs, such as cheese rolling and Morris dancing.

Each of his humorous and insightful journeys celebrates years of unique food heritage while giving him the chance to cook up a storm on his trusty gas powered oven.

It was while filming in the picturesque Kent village of Hernhill that Ade met the local Morris dancers on the village green whilst mixing up a tasty dish in his very own teardrop caravan!

From the Kentish orchards and hop gardens to a shell strewn beach, Hernhill is known for its rich variety of landscape. Only 3 miles away from the heritage town of Faversham and only 7 from the City of Canterbury, it is the perfect country location. The area around Hernhill has featured on screen in Rustom (2016), Great British Railway Journeys (2014) and Our Food (2012).

The Kent episode of Ade in Britain will be shown on Friday December 2nd 2011 at 4pm on ITV 1
