AimHigher
How to find Routes into Film and Broadcast Media
AimHigher, with funding from the University for the Creative Arts and in collaboration with Kent Film Office and the Kent Arts Development Unit, have produced a higher education guide which gives information about career paths into the film and broadcast industries available in Kent and Medway.
This informative booklet offers practical advice, underpinned by case studies on what jobs are on offer within film, television and radio and how to go about getting them. It is aimed at young people starting out on their career path and is designed to give a broad overview of the sector, as well as contact details for organisations that may have more detailed information for certain specialised routes.
The Kent Film Office is committed to offering and creating opportunities for people in the region to enter the sector. These include on the job industry training, developing a Kent Film Academy and facilitating runner/production assistant placements on visiting film and television productions, as well as offering work experience opportunities.
AimHigher is a national, government funded project to encourage and assist more people to enter college or university. Aimhigher Kent and Medway work on a regional level in partnership with local universities, further education colleges and schools to help achieve this. This booklet is another innovative and practical way of achieving that goal.
