Duration: 1 year full-time (MA) or 31 weeks full-time (Postgraduate Diploma)

Programme Location: Canterbury Christ Church University

Course Code: Please contact University

Entry Requirements: Prior experience with films

This course provides a focused framework for exploring skills such as sound recording, camerawork, lighting, editing, scriptwriting, budgeting, and directing. In the early stages, students will undertake a number of practical exercises, before moving on to the production of a major practical project, either individually or as a member of a group. While the degree is predominantly practical in nature, it is neither technical nor vocational in focus. The work produced on the course engages with intellectual, philosophical, aesthetic, and other considerations. A written component will accompany practical productions, as a further way of exploring these ideas.
