Animation Company Animate and Create has gone from strength to strength over the past year.

Formed in 2007, the Whitstable based company scooped the “One to Watch” award at the Canterbury Culture Awards in June this year and Creative Director of Animate and Create Dan Richards had this to say about the company’s first accolade “To win any award is special, but being the company’s first honour and one that recognises our previous work and our potential is a great achievement. The Culture Awards were a great evening and everyone at the studio really enjoyed the night out, and winning the award was the icing on the cake.”

In addition, Dan Richards and the company were also selected as finalists in two categories at the Kent Excellence In Business Awards 2011 (KEIBA):  Best Business from the Creative Industries and Young Entrepreneur of the year.

As well as picking up awards, the company are also getting involved with local events. The South East’s annual animation festival, Canterbury Anifest is now in its fifth year and Animate and Create are spearheading the event for the second time. It is promising to be even bigger than before. There are a range of master classes with Jim Parkyn, Senior Model Maker at Aardman Animations and talks from Alise Munson from LAIKA, the studio behind the award winning feature film Coraline

In light of the company’s successes over the past year, Animate and Create are expanding their workforce and the role of Sales and Marketing Representative is up for grabs.

The closing date is Friday 23rd September
