American Pop star Nicki Minaj visited Kent to shoot at Dungeness for her latest music video ‘Freedom’. The stunning video starts with a shot of a staircase on the beach leading up into the sky before showing Nicki performing on the shingle coast of Dungeness and in front of the unique Dengemarsh sound mirrors.
Nicki’s behind the scenes video shows that although the location may look stunning, it isn’t easy to shoot a video in a cocktail dress and stiletto boots on a cold and windy November day!
Dungeness is in Shepway and is a unique shingle beach location with ramshackle huts, old and ultra modern residences, two light houses, a cafe by the historic railway station, boat moorings, a lifeboat station, two pubs, artist galleries and a Power Station.
It’s not the first time Dungeness has been used as a location for filming, with BBC drama series BBC Parades End (2012), The Inspector Lynley Mysteries (2006) and Eastenders visiting the area as well as photo shoots from Harpers and Harrods Magazine.
