Are you aspiring to be the next Christopher Nolan, Danny Boyle or Kathryn Bigelow? Then check out the BFI Film Academy which once again returns to Kent with Screen South delivering a programme to train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers in partnership with The Maidstone Studios!
The course will take place on Saturdays between 15th October 2016 and 28th January 2017 and will include practical filmmaking elements from screenwriting, production and post-production skills, as well as making at least two short films.
There will also be the chance for successful applicants to meet high end industry professionals such as directors, writers and producers, and attend workshops and master classes by leading industry experts. There will also be the chance to apply for the National residential Academies at the National Film School, as well as other great opportunities in Documentary, Animation, Visual Effects and BAFTA mentoring. The course is Silver Arts Award/NCFE nationally accredited.
There are only 20 places available for talented filmmakers in the Kent area who are 16-19 years old and have enthusiasm, determination, a genuine interest in film and a willingness to learn.
The course costs just £25, although bursaries are available. Bursaries will also be made available for participants if you require assistance with travel, child care or other costs.
