Sky Kids Programme ‘The Athena’ produced by Kent based production company Bryncoed is now available to watch!

The brand new Sky Kids 26-part series The Athena, created by Kent based production company Bryncoed. It is their first young adult commission and is now available to watch.

The 30 minute episodic drama has been produced by Foz Allan’s Production Company Bryncoed, which is situated in Canterbury, Kent and the successful show has been distributed internationally by ZDF Enterprises. Executive Producer and owner of the company Foz Allan has extensive experience working in Children’s Drama and has an impressive track record of BAFTA award winning shows including CBBC’s Wolfblood, The Dumping Ground, Hetty Feather and Harriet’s Army.

The lead writer of the show is Holly Phillips renowned for writing Australia’s hit drama Dance Academy 2, whilst director Isabelle Sieb (Three Women Wait for Death) will make her first exciting television debut. Up-and-coming actress Ella Balinska, who is set to star in the new Charlie’s Angels remake later on this year, takes on the lead role of Nyela Malik in the series.

The Athena follows the young model Ella Balinska as she wins a place at London’s most prestigious art school, The Athena, and sees her career implode after standing up for herself when a famous fashion designer treats her like an object. The series follows her realisation that she wants to create her own clothes rather than be a puppet for other fashion designers.

The Athena season one is now available on Sky and Now TV as of the 15th February 2019.
