Arts and Media Summer School at UCA Rochester Campus free for students in Year 10 – 13

Ever wanted to write, direct, act or design a TV series? Then were looking for you! Working with Kent based violafilms, this fun, exciting and hands on course, will give you the chance to explore your creativity in ways you may not have considered, looking at a variety of potential career and training opportunities in the media industries and what higher education at UCA can offer to take you there. Working with professional actors and receiving training from experienced industry professionals , during the Filmlab we will look at: 

  • Industry terms
  • The idea for a film
  • The treatment, Script/Storyboard
  • The Team
  • Schedule
  • Resources and how to use them
  • Tricks of the trade
  • Shooting
  • Edit and post production

Is it for me?

The school is open to Year 10-12 students. If you have an interest in film or television in general or specifically in writing, photography, directing, art, makeup, costume then this is for you. No previous experience is needed – we’ll show you what you need to know and if you do have some experience even better!

The only work to begin prior to the formal Filmlab period is Scriptwriting which will take place on Saturday 30 June.
