The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a new take on the horror feature genre and stars father and son coroners, Tommy (Brian Cox) and Austin (Emile Hirsch) Tilden who receive a mysterious homicide victim with no apparent cause of death. Whilst carrying out their examination, they become aware that they are not alone in the morgue basement and start to suspect that something supernatural may have been involved with Jane Doe’s death.

The film is directed by André Øvredal (Trollhunter, The Tunnel) and written by Ian B. Goldberg (What Goes On, Once Upon a Time), Richard Naing (Behind the Mask, Dead of Summer).

Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, Savages) and Brian Cox (Zodiac, X-Men: Days of Future Past) take the leading roles alongside Ophelia Lovibond (Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy) Michael McElhatton (The Hallow, Mammal), Olwen Katherine Kelly (Darkness on the Edge of Town, Why Life Sucks When You’re in Your 20s), Parker Sawyers (Southside With You) and Jane Perry (World War Z, A Hologram for the King).

The Autopsy of Jane Doe production team filmed at Home Farm in April 2015 which doubled as an American house.

Home Farm is a colonial style weather boarded villa set in 5 acres in the Swale district of Kent. The property boasts a white picket fence and veranda’s bordered by woods, faded grandeur interiors with reclaimed wood floors and a derelict Victorian greenhouse. Home Farm has been used for a variety of photoshoots including HSBC.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is released in cinemas on Friday 31st March 2017

Harlots (2017)

Already hotly debated in the press, ITV’s risqué eight part series, Harlots (2017-2019), takes us back to London 1763 when one in five women sold their body. The story follows brothel owner Margaret Wells (Samantha Morton), her daughters Charlotte (Jessica Brown Findlay) and Lucy (Eloise Smyth) and their rival, Madam Lydia Quigley (Lesley Manville).

The series was inspired by Jack Harris’ stories collected in Harris’s List of Covent Garden Ladies, a directory that contained a list of prostitutes, with their age, price and ‘specialities’.

The new drama stars Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead, Minority Report) as Margaret Wells, Jessica Brown Findlay (Victor Frankenstein (2015), Brave New World (2020)) as Charlotte Wells, Lesley Manville (Mr Turner (2014), All or Nothing (2002)) as Lydia Quigley, Eloise Smyth (The Frankenstein Chronicles, Fortitude) as Lucy Wells, Holli Dempsey (Derek (2013), The Aliens) as Emily Lacey and Kate Fleetwood (Victoria, The Wheel of Time) as Nancy Birch.

The Tarred Yarn Store at Chatham Dockyard was used as the interior and exterior of a riverside tavern in Series One.

The Historic Dockyard Chatham is a popular filming location with variety of Georgian and Victorian architecture, maritime environment, dry dock, cobbled streets and industrial buildings. Call the Midwife (2012-2022), SS-GB (2017) and The Crown (2016-2020) are just a few of the productions that were filmed at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.

Harlots premieres on ITV Encore on Monday 27th March at 10:00PM and on Hulu on Wednesday 29th March.

Walks with my Dog follows celebrities and their four-legged friends exploring Britain’s picturesque towns.

In episode one, Phil Spencer and his two dogs (Location, Location, Location) head to Faversham. On their journey the trio makes a pit stop at Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewery.

The Old Lighthouse and Sound Mirrors on Dungeness, will be featured in episode 5 on Thursday 6th April on More4 at 8pm.

Faversham is a beautiful historic market town in the Swale Borough of Kent. The historic town boasts over 500 listed buildings and the many restaurants, shops, attractions and beautiful walks the picturesque countryside has to offer. Faversham has been featured in various programmes including Channel 4 Drama Southcliffe (2013) and Great British Story: A People’s History (2012).

Dungeness is a unique expanse of shingle beach with many ramshackle huts as well as two light houses, a historic railway station, two pubs and artist galleries along with a nuclear power station. Previous projects that have filmed there include The Poison Tree (2012).

SS-GB (2017)

Set in the 1940s, in an alternate world where the Germans won the Battle of Britain, BBC’s new five part series SS-GB follows Scotland Yard detective Douglas Archer (Sam Riley), who is investigating a murder in German-occupied England. The gripping new drama is an adaptation of Len Deighton’s 1978 novel and will be split into five parts.

Writers Robert Wade and Neal Purvis both studied Film and Photographic Arts at the University of Kent. Since then they have forged a successful career writing screenplays together, with their first success being the controversial drama Let Him Have It (1991). Both writers have also co-written five James Bond films, including Quantum of Solace (2008) and Skyfall (2012), which was the UK’s highest grossing movie!

SS-GB brings together a fantastic cast including, Sam Riley (Maleficent, Control), Kate Bosworth (Still Alice, Superman Returns), Aneurin Barnard (Citadel, The Truth About Emanuel), Rainer Bock (War Horse, Inglorious Basterds and Unknown), Jonathan Cass (Transformers: The Last Knight, Kingsman: The Golden Circle), James Cosmo (Braveheart and Troy), Maeve Dermody (Black Water, Marcella), Lars Eidinger (Clouds of Sils Maria, Everyone Else), Kit Connor (Get Santa, Mr Holmes) and James Northcote (The Imitation Game).

Exterior street scenes were shot at The Ropery and Anchor Wharf and also around the church and South Stables. The Tarred Yarn store was featured as a mortuary and there was also a small scene in The Commissioners House garden.

Set over 80 acres with more than 100 Victorian and Georgian buildings, The Historic Dockyard Chatham is one of Kent’s most popular film locations and has previously been used for the BBC TV series Call The Midwife (2012-present), The Crown (2016) and most recently The Halcyon (2017).

SS-GB premiers on Sunday 19th February 2017 at 21:00pm on BBC One

Set in the 1940s, ITV’s The Halcyon charts the lives of staff and guests in a five-star hotel during World War II. The story is told from the point of view of Joe O’Hara (Matt Ryan), an American journalist and illustrates how the war permeated all areas of London life; be it that of the guests seeking an escape from the war or the forbidden love affair of the hotel’s resident jazz singer, Betsy (Kara Tointon). Samuel Sim’s soundtrack punctuates the action with sultry jazz tunes, and will be released the day the show airs.

The Halcyon brings together an incredible ensemble cast, including Kara Tointon (Eastenders, The Sound of Music Live!), Alex Jennings (The Queen, Babel) and Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense, An Education), Steven Mackintosh (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Sope Dirisu (Undercover, Humans) and Matt Ryan (Constantine, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour).

Exterior scenes of bombed London streets were shot at The Ropery and on Anchor Wharf, at  The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent.

Set over 80 acres in the Medway area of Kent, The Historic Dockyard Chatham has more than  100 Georgian and Victorian buildings as well as cobbled streets and dock spaces. The Historic Dockyard Chatham has previously welcomed filming from The Crown (2016), Partners in Crime  (2015) and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows  (2011).

Bargain Hunt Christmas Special (2016)

Popular BBC daytime show Bargain Hunt comes to Kent for a festive edition. Charlie Ross presents at the Kent Showground alongside experts Raj Bisram and Richard Madley who assist the two teams in their Christmas shopping. Charlie also pays a visit to Leeds Castle where he learns about the history of Christmas decorations.

The Kent Showground in Detling is near the county town of Maidstone. The event venue sits on over 200 acres and hosts the renowned Kent County Show every July as well as fares and conferences. Bargain Hunt (2012) has previously been filmed at the Kent Showground.

Set in 500 acres on the outskirts of Maidstone, is the beautiful Leeds Castle which boasts stunning period rooms, gardens, a moat, woodlands, maze with shell grotto and an aviary. A popular film location, Leeds Castle has previously been used by projects such as The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (2016), Gadget Man (2014) and Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949).

The Bargain Hunt Christmas Special filmed in Kent will air on Friday 9th December 2016 at 12:15 on BBC One. Leeds Castle will also feature in the second Christmas episode on Friday 16th December at 12:15 on BBC One.

Grand Designs: House of the Year (2016)

Grand Designs: House of the Year is a Channel 4 property where presenter Kevin McCloud explores homes in the running for the RIBA House of the Year Award, focusing on properties that create space from the smallest of sites.

In episode three of the new series, the team visit North Vat House at Dungeness which blends beach living and high architecture. Although the exterior looks compact, the interior is open planned with a modern design and breath-taking views of the shingle beaches and ocean at Dungeness.

Dungeness is an expanse of shingle beach with many ramshackle huts as well as extremely modern residences, two lighthouses, a historic train station, two pubs and artist galleries along with a nuclear power station. Projects previously filmed here include Great British Railway Journeys – Series 7 (2016), The Poison Tree (2012) and EastEnders (2007).

This episode of Grand Designs: House of the Year featuring Dungeness will air on Thursday 8th December at 21:00 on Channel 4.

Coast Vs Country is Channel 4’s brand new property series from the creators of A Place in the Sun, helping house hunters find their dream property either by the sea or in the countryside.

The series is presented by interior designer, Kerr Drummond and buying expert and current face of A Place in the Sun, Sara Damergi.

Kent features throughout the series including Thanet locations Broadstairs & Viking Bay, Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay, Margate, Ramsgate, as well as Canterbury and Herne Bay.

The Thanet area boasts the beautiful coastal towns of Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate which has sandy bays, parks and open spaces, galleries and amusements. Thanet has been used for filming by productions such as The Lady in the Van (2015) and Eastenders (2015).

Herne Bay is a seaside town which has a pier and shingle beach and is set just outside of the historic City of Canterbury. Previous productions which have filmed in the area include Rustom (2016), Terry and Mason’s Great Food Trip (2015) and Got To Dance (2012).

The Kent episodes will air on Channel 4 on:

Secrets of Great British Castles (2016)

Secrets of Great British Castles returns for a second series, where historian Dan Jones explores the turbulent history behind Britain’s castles. Exploring the secrets behind the castles, Dan uncovers stories of intrigue, drama, romance, rebellion, and murder.

Between May and June 2016, the production team filmed at Leeds Castle where Dan Jones delves into its history, seen and unseen, such as the hidden 13th Century bathhouse built for Edward I. For the first time visitors will be able to hear about top secret letters between Winston Churchill and Geoffrey Lloyd, Minister in charge of the Secret Petroleum Warfare Department, detailing fascinating World War II plans that had their inception at Leeds Castle.

Set in the outskirts of the county town of Kent, Maidstone is the beautiful Leeds Castle which is set over 500 acres and boasts stunning period rooms, gardens, a moat, woodlands, maze with shell grotto and an aviary boasts medieval themed rooms. Leeds Castle has previously been used as a film location by film The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (2016), Gadget Man (2014) and Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949).

The Leeds Castle episode of Secrets of Great British Castles airs on Channel 5 at 20:00 on Friday 25th November 2016.

Set in the aftermath of the Second World War, Close To The Enemy tells the story of Captain Callum Ferguson (Jim Sturgess), an intelligence officer who is given the task of recruiting captured German scientist Dieter (August Diehl), to work for the RAF on the development of the jet engine by the British army.

The seven part series is written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff (Dancing on the Edge, The Lost Prince) and stars Jim Sturgess (Deception, Spike Island), August Diehl (Le jeune Karl Marx, Come What May), Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel, The Journey), Charlotte Riley (In the Heart of the Sea, Edge of Tomorrow), Phoebe Fox (The Hollow Crown, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) and Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2, Love is Strange).

The Close To The Enemy production team chose to film at The Historic Dockyard Chatham on HMS Cavalier, inside and outside Slip 3 and the upper floors of the Ropery which doubled as the arrival halls at the docks.  They also used a drone to fly across the river where the boat arrives.

The Historic Dockyard Chatham is set over 80 acres and contains over 100 Georgian and Victorian buildings as well as cobbled streets and dock spaces. Previously filmed at The Historic Dockyard Chatham was Call the Midwife (2010 – 2016), Downton Abbey (2013) and The Golden Compass (2007) among others.

Close To The Enemy starts on Thursday 10th November 2016 at 21:00 on BBC Two.
