F1: The Movie (2025) follows Sonny Hayes, a Formula One driver forced to retire after a terrible crash, who returns to the scene to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce for the Apex Grand Prix team.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, Oblivion), the film has an A-list cast including Brad Pitt (World War Z (2013), Fight Club) as Sonny Hayes, Damson Idris (Black Mirror – Smithereens (2019), Snowfall) as Joshua Pearce, Kerry Condon (Dom Hemingway (2013), The Banshees of Inisherin) as Kate, Javier Bardem (Skyfall, No Country for Old Men) as Ruben and Tobias Menzies (King Lear (2018), This Way Up (2021)) as Banning.
The production visited Kent to film at Brands Hatch.
Brands Hatch is a former renowned F1 racetrack with views across almost the entire Indy circuit. Surrounded by woodland, the site is operational and also has a rally course and an off-road 4×4 course. Other productions to have filmed there include Rush (2013) and My Fault: London (2025).
F1: The Movie (2025) will be released in UK cinemas on Friday 27th June 2025 and will be available to stream on AppleTV at a later date.
