After the death of her mother, Kate Rafter returns from war-torn Iraq to her family home. Whilst packing up her mother’s belongings, she comes to believe there is something terrifying happening in the house next door, forcing her to question everything she thinks she knows about her past.

My Sister’s Bones (2026) is directed by Heidi Greensmith (Winter), and stars Jenny Seagrove (Local Hero, Nate and Hayes) as Kate Rafter, Olga Kurylenko (Treason (2022), Oblivion) as Dr Shaw, Anna Friel (Sulphur and White (2020), Marcella (2016)) as Sally Rafter, Ben Miles (V for Vendetta, Speed Racer) as Paul and David Bradley (The World’s End, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2) as Ray.

Filming took place in various locations in Whitstable, including at Beacon House, which doubles for Kate’s mother’s home, and at Kiora, which doubles for her next-door neighbour Frida’s (Lovi Poe) home. Other locations featured include Tankerton Beach, Whitstable Harbour, The Beach Café on Beach Walk, Marine Terrace and Whitstable beach promenade. A brief walking scene was filmed on Central Parade in Herne Bay.

Beacon House is a colonial style wooden clapboard, turn-of-century beach house set on Tankerton beach in Whitstable. The grounds include wild woodland gardens, views out to sea and lines of beach huts. Recent productions to have filmed there include Black Mirror: Season 7 – Eulogy (2025), Whitstable Pearl (2021-2024) and Series 4 of Catastrophe (2019).

Kiora is a weatherboarded house located at the foot of Tankerton Slopes at the eastern end of Whitstable. Built in 1904, the interior is Canadian pine, with wooden floors and many original features throughout.

Whitstable is a thriving seaside town with working fishing harbour, shingle beach and a bustling high street. Other productions to have filmed there include Still Life (2013), Gangsters, Guns and Zombies (2012) and The Tapes (2011).

Herne Bay is a coastal resort which is home to the world’s first free-standing purpose-built clock tower. Herne Bay Beach is a shingle beach, lined with beach huts stretching from Herne Bay to the Yacht Club at Hampton Pier. On a fine day, there are views to Reculver to the east and Whitstable, Isle of Sheppey, and Southend to the west. Joan (2024), Heartstopper (2022) and Kate & Koji (2020-2022) also filmed in Herne Bay.
