An adaptation of Patrick Radden Keefe’s book of the same name, Say Nothing (2024) is a limited series following the lives of people growing up in Belfast during the Troubles.

Created by Joshua Zetumer (RoboCop, Patriots Day), the series stars Lola Petticrew (She Said, Dating Amber) as Dolours Price, Hazel Doupe (Kathleen Is Here, Smother) as Marian Price, Emily Healy (The Cuckoo) as Helen McConville, Maxine Peake (Black Mirror: Season 4 – Metalhead (2017), Peterloo (2018)) as older Dolours Price and Rylee Neilly-Large as Michael McConville. Supporting cast includes Anthony Boyle (Tolkien, Tetris) as Brendan Hughes, Josh Finan (The Responder, Hellboy) as Gerry Adams, Judith Roddy (Rig 45) as Jean McConville, Seamus O’Hara (The Northman, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) as Anthony ‘Mackers’ McIntyre, Isaac Heslip (Blue Lights, Invasion (2023)) as Archie McConville and Art Parkinson (Kubo and the Two Strings, Game of Thrones) as Francis.

Production visited Kent to film VFX plate shots at the Port of Ramsgate for Episode 5, as well as prison scenes at The Citadel for Episode 7.

The Port of Ramsgate is set on 32 acres of dedicated port land and is often used as a ‘stand-in’ for film and TV as the Port of Dover. Other productions that have filmed here include Liaison (2023), The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself (2022) and Jagame Thandhiram (2021).

The Citadel, located on Dover’s Western Heights, was constructed in the late 1700s as a port of defence during the Napoleonic war and has since been used for a variety of purposes, including a borstal, prison and as barracks during both World Wars. Given its rich history and architecture from a wide range of time periods, The Citadel is a popular filming location, having also played host to The Buckingham Murders (2024), Kraven the Hunter (2024) and Whitstable Pearl (2021-2022).

Say Nothing (2024) was released on Disney+ on Thursday 14th November 2024.
