The Thursday Murder Club (2025) is a crime comedy based on the novel of the same name by Richard Osman. It follows four elderly sleuths as they attempt to solve a murder.

Directed by Chris Columbus (Young Sherlock Holmes (1986), The Help), the film stars Helen Mirren (Inkheart (2008), MobLand (2025)) as Elizabeth Best, a retired spy, Pierce Brosnan (The World is Not Enough (1999), Die Another Day (2002)) as Ron Ritchie, a retired union leader, Ben Kingsley (The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More (2023), Sexy Beast) as Ibrahim Arif, a retired psychiatrist, and Celia Imrie (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Imagine Me & You) as Joyce Meadowcroft, a retired nurse. In supporting roles are David Tennant (True Love (2012), Doctor Who) as Ian Ventham, Jonathan Pryce (The Crown (2016-2023), Wolf Hall (2015)) as Stephen Best and Naomi Ackie (Yardie (2018), The Corrupted (2019)) as PC Donna de Freitas.

Production visited Kent to film a vehicle stunt scene at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.

The Historic Dockyard Chatham is one of Kent’s most popular filming locations. Set on the River Medway, the Dockyard spans over 80 acres, containing over 100 buildings dating from the Georgian and Victorian periods. Other recent productions to have filmed at the Dockyard include A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story (2025), Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning (2025) and SAS Rogue Heroes – Series 2 (2025).

The Thursday Murder Club (2025) will get a limited cinema release on Friday 22nd August and then will be available to stream on Netflix from Thursday 28th August 2025.

MobLand (2025) is a British crime drama series following two warring crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza, a street-smart “fixer” tasked with preventing an all-out gang war.

Created by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy (2019-2022), The Day of the Jackal), the series stars Tom Hardy (Oliver Twist (2007), Inception) as Harry Da Souza, Pierce Brosnan (Die Another Day (2002), The World is Not Enough (1999)) as Conrad Harrigan, Joanne Froggatt (Liar (2017-2020), Still Life (2013)) as Jan Da Souza, Lara Pulver (Maternal, The Split) as Bella Harrigan, Anson Boon (Pistol (2022), 1917) as Eddie Harrigan and Helen Mirren (Inkheart (2008), Last Orders (2002)) as Maeve Harrigan.

Production visited Kent to film at the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm on the Romney Marsh. Sadly, this scene did not appear to make the final cut – but let us know if you spot it!

The Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm is located on the Romney Marsh between Lydd and Rye. The 26 wind turbines, each 115 metres (377 ft) high, are distributed over an area of 1.5 sq miles. Other productions to have filmed there include Prime Target (2025), Electric Dreams: Crazy Diamond (2017) and The Honourable Woman (2014).

MobLand (2025) was released on Paramount+ on Sunday 30th March 2025.

Die Another Day (2002)

Die Another Day is the twentieth film in the James Bond series, based on the original character created by Ian Fleming and marked the franchise’s 40th anniversary.

With Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia!, Dante’s Peak) taking the James Bond starring role for the fourth and final time, Halle Berry (Cloud Atlas Cloud Atlas, Monster’s Ball), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Jack Reacher), Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal, Iris), John Cleese (A Fish Called Wanda, Trolls) and Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, The Hateful Eight).

The film sees Bond captured on a mission in North Korea after his true identity was leaked. A year later, he is released in exchange for a terrorist but MI6 relieve him of his “00” because they suspect he gave away secrets during his capture. Trying to prove his innocence, Bond sets off to find his betrayer as well as the terrorist he was exchanged for who has an evil plan – will Bond be able to stop him?

With an A-list cast including Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, Halle Berry as sidekick Giacinta ‘Jinx’ Johnson as well as Rosamund Pike, Judi Dench, John Cleese, Michael Madsen and even an appearance from Madonna!

The Die Another Day team visited the now closed Manston Airport in Ramsgate to film the Antonov cargo plane scenes towards the end of the film. The Thanet area has been previously used for filming True Love (2012) and Gypo (2006).

The film is now out to buy on DVD.

The World is Not Enough (1999)

The World is Not Enough is the nineteenth film in the James Bond series and sees Bond, played by Pierce Brosnan, return to protect the world from a nuclear bomb threat whilst protecting the heiress and daughter of an oil tycoon murdered at MI6.

Directed by Michael Apted (The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader) and starring screen favourites as Pierce Brosnan (Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day), Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty, Trainspotting), Sophie Marceau (Braveheart, Beyond The Clouds), John Cleese (Fawlty Towers, A Fish Called Wanda) and Judi Dench (Die Another Day, Ladies in Lavender).

The World is Not Enough was a smash hit at the box office and became the highest earning James Bond film until Die Another Day was released in 2002. The film also won several awards for best film of its genre and best actor, Pierce Brosnan.

The Historic Dockyard in Chatham was used as the location for a section of the action packed boat chase at the start of the film where the boat goes across a road, through a boat house and down an arched alleyway. If you look closely you can see Chatham High Street just before Bond sails past the O2.

A popular filming location for the big and small screen The Historic Dockyard has also featured in productions such as Les Miserables (2013), The Golden Compass (2007) and the BBC adaptation of Oliver Twist (2007).

The film was released in November 1999 and is now available to buy on DVD.
