This brand new eight part ITV noir thriller centres around Marcella (Anna Friel), who finds herself heartbroken when her husband leaves her unexpectedly and isolated from her children. After deciding to return to the Metropolitan Police following a 10 year break, she instantly becomes involved with a serial killer case she worked on in 2005. Marcella finds herself looking for answers to both her work and personal life, but will she find what she is seeking?

The series is written by internationally renowned screenwriter and novelist Hans Rosenfeldt (Rederiet, The Bridge) and directed by Charles Martin (Skins, The Returned) and Andrew Woodhead (Fortitude, Law & Order: UK).

The production visited Kent for one day to film at The Port of Dover where a police officer finds an abandoned car.

The Port of Dover is the UK’s busiest passenger port, with the town also boasting Dover Castle and the infamous White Cliffs of Dover. The Dover area has previously featured on screen in The Tunnel: Sabotage (2016), Wolf Hall (2015) and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows (2011).

The Tunnel: Sabotage is the second series of Sky Atlantic’s critically acclaimed show, re-uniting unlikely Anglo-French detective duo Karl Roebuck (Stephen Dillane) and Elise Wasserman (Clémence Poésy) on another intense investigation.

While series one was a re-imagining of Scandinavian drama “The Bridge”, the new series is an original story by Ben Richards (Outcasts, Spooks) and kicks off with two seemingly isolated events: a plane crashing into the Channel, killing everyone on board and a French couple abducted from the Eurotunnel.

Elise Wasserman (Clémence Poésy), having been promoted to French Commander, is reunited with DCI Karl Roebuck (Dillane) to investigate the two cases. The cross border teams follow a shocking trail of devastation as the victims mount up and become embroiled in a terrifying, deadly game.

The gripping eight part thriller is a Sky Atlantic and Canal+ co-production, made by Kudos and Shine Films France. Joining The Tunnel’s acclaimed production team for the second series are director Mike Barker (Broadchurch, The Smoke) and producer Julian Stevens (Hustle, The Fall).

Stephen Dillane (King Arthur, Game of Thrones) and Clémence Poésy (127 Hours, In Bruges) return in the lead roles, supported by Angel Coulby (Merlin, The Jacket), and new to series two, Emilia Fox (Silent Witness, The Wrong Mans), Clarke Peters (Notting Hill, The Wire), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation, The Newsroom) and William Ash (Waterloo Road, Shameless).

The hit first series was largely filmed in Kent and the county welcomed The Tunnel: Sabotage production team once again to their base at Discovery Park in Sandwich. Filming took place in a number of East Kent locations between April and July 2015 including:

Canterbury: The Barn in Upstreet, St Martin’s Hospital, Knowlton Court

Dover: Discovery Park, Deal and Deal Pier, the town of Dover, Port of Dover, Inn and Hotel, Deal, Sandwich Marina, Dover Castle – Admiral’s lookout

Shepway: Euro Tunnel, the town of Folkestone, Folkestone Harbour

Thanet: set building in a warehouse on Westwood Industrial Estate in Margate, Botany Bay and the towns of Ramsgate and Margate

East Kent is ideally situated with great transport links both to London and Europe. The area boasts a wealth of locations including industrial as well as historic buildings and beautiful coastal landscapes. East Kent has previously featured on screen in many projects such as Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Edge of Heaven (2014), The Honourable Woman (2014), Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows (2011), Great Expectations (2011/2012), On A Clear Day (2005) and Die Another Day (2002).

The Ones Below is a film about Kate (Clemence Poesy) and Justin (Stephen Campbell Moore), who are expecting their first baby. They make friends with another couple who have moved into the apartment below and are also expecting a child. However, a tragic accident throws the couples into a nightmare of psychological terror.

The film is written and directed by David Farr (Hannah, Spooks) and stars Clemence Peoesy (In Bruges, The Tunnel), Stephen Campbell Moore (Burnt, Season of the Witch), David Morrissey (The Walking Dead, True Love) and Laura Birn (Purge Purge, Heart of a Lion).

The production visited Kent to film at The Port of Dover and took some close up shots of the water and Theresa (Laura Birn) as she leaves the UK., and then again when Theresa is on the boat.

The Port of Dover is the UK’s busiest passenger port and the coastline is well known for its iconic white cliffs. The area has previously featured on screen in The Tunnel (2013), Johnny English (2003) and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows (2011).

The Ones Below is released in cinemas on 11th March 2016.

The Choir: Sing While You Work (2013)

BBC2 series The Choir: Sing While You Work follows choirmaster Gareth Malone on his search to get Britain’s workforce singing as he aims to create distinctive choirs at five of the biggest businesses in Britain before they compete for the crown of best workplace choir.

In the first episode of the second series, Gareth visits employees at P&O which is the UK’s longest-running cross-Channel ferry service where he faces the challenge of getting the choir members together as they are all based in different locations – Dover, France and even at sea! Will they be able to rehearse enough to blow the competition out of the water? 

In the final episode shown on Sunday 22nd December 2013, the P&O ferries choir went on to win the show – a massive congratulations to them!

From May to October 2013, the production followed Gareth and the P&O employees on their musical journey and filmed them at P&O ferries, The Port of Dover and Dover itself.

Dover is home to the infamous White Cliffs of Dover and Europe’s busiest passenger Port. The area has been used for many filming projects such as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) and The Other Boleyn Girl (2008).

The first episode of The Choir: Sing While You Work was shown on Monday 4th November 2013 at 21:00 on BBC2.

Inspired by hit Scandinavian drama The Bridge, The Tunnel is a new 10 part Sky Atlantic series set against the backdrop of a European crisis after a French politician is found dead on the border between the UK and France. Detectives from the respective countries are sent to investigate but at the crime scene comes a shocking discovery, forcing the French and British police into an uneasy partnership.  As the serial killer uses ever more elaborate and ingenious methods to highlight the moral bankruptcy of modern society, the detectives are drawn deeper into his increasingly personal agenda.

The series is a Sky Atlantic HD and CANAL+ co-production from Kudos Film and TV and Shine France Films in association with Filmlance and was adapted by an Anglo-French writing team led by Ben Richards (Spooks, Outcasts, Party Animals).

The series stars many famous faces including Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones), Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter series), Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones), Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons), Keeley Hawes (Ashes to Ashes), Liz Smith (The Royal Family), Tobi Bakare (Silent Witness), Jeanne Balibar (The Invisible Woman), Thibault de Montalembert (Days of Glory), Mathieu Carrièrre (High Speed), Angel Coulby (Merlin) and Jack Lowden (Mrs Biggs).

In November 2012, Kent welcomed The Tunnel’s production team who based themselves at Discovery Park in Sandwich.  Filming took place at a variety of East Kent locations between February 2013 and August 2013.

Many prominent Kent locations were used such as the Channel Tunnel, Connaught Barracks, Discovery Park, Folkestone Harbour, The Turner Contemporary, The Port of Dover, Westwood Cross Shopping Centre as well as the towns of Folkestone, Dover and Margate, and the production also made use of the Kent Film Office’s legal powers to close roads for filming.

East Kent has previously provided the back drop for many filming projects such as Dominic Savage’s True Love (2012), Ginger and Rosa (2012), My Week with Marilyn (2011), Son of Rambow (2008) and Venus (2007).

Will is a feature film about a recently orphaned 11-year-old boy on his journey to Istanbul to watch his favourite football team play in the Champions League Final. Along the way, he overcomes many challenges and meets some interesting people who help him through his journey.

The film is directed by Ellen Perry (P.O.V, The Fall of Fujimori, Great Wall Across the Yangtze) who also co-wrote the script along with Zack Anderson (Pig Hunt, P.O.V, The Fall of Fujimori).

Will is played by Perry Eggleton in his first role in a feature film, starring alongside Damien Lewis (Homeland, Band of Brothers, The Escapist) and Bob Hoskins (Mona Lisa, Hook, Enemy at the Gates).

The production filmed in Kent in May 2010 at The Port of Ramsgate, The Port Of Dover and The White Cliffs of Dover. The locations feature in the film at the start of Will’s journey to Istanbul, as he smuggles himself onto a freight lorry in order to cross the sea to France.

The The Port of Ramsgate is set on 32 acres of dedicated port land, and is owned and operated by Thanet District Council. Ramsgate itself is a popular historic town and boasts England’s only Royal Harbour. The area has previously been seen on screen in productions such as Eastenders (2015), Not Going Out (2013) and Ruby Blue (2008).

The White Cliffs of Dover are a natural icon of England and they form part of the English coastline facing the Strait of Dover and France. The Port Of Dover is the UK’s busiest passenger Port. The Dover area has featured in productions such as The Tunnel (2013), Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows (2011) and On a Clear Day (2005).

Will was released November 2011 and you can buy it to watch on DVD.

On a Clear Day is the story of a middle-aged Glasgow shipbuilder, Frank (Peter Mullan –Trainspotting, Tyrannosaur) who is suddenly made redundant and starts to feel lost. When his friend jokes that he could swim the Channel on a clear day, Frank decides to take the challenge on, unbeknown to his family. Will Frank be successful and will he be able to repair his strained relationships? 

Alongside Peter Mullan stars Brenda Blethyn (Pride and Prejudice, Atonement), Jamie Sives (Clash of the Titans, Get Him to the Greek), Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy The, Forger), Sean McGinley (Braveheart, Love/Hate), Ron Cook (Chocolat, Hot Fuzz), Jodhi May (Defiance, Ginger and Rosa) and Benedict Wong (Prometheus, Kick Ass 2).

The production visited Kent to shoot at the foot of the White Cliffs of Dover where Frank (Peter Mullan) starts his swim of the English Channel and the famous cliffs can also be seen in the background throughout his challenge.

The Port of Dover was used for the scenes where Frank’s family and friends race to meet him in France at the end of his swim.

Dover is a busy town that boasts the historic Dover Castle as well as the famous White Cliffs of Dover. It is also home to Europe’s busiest passenger port, facing France across the narrowest part of the English Channel.

Productions that have previously filmed in the Dover area include Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows (2011), The Other Boleyn Girl (2008) and Johnny English (2003).

On Clear Day was released in cinemas in September 2005 and is now available on DVD.

Diamonds Are Forever (1971) was directed by Guy Hamilton (Battle of Britain (1969), Live and Let Die) and features the legendary Sean Connery as James Bond for the very last time. The seventh spy film in the popular series sees Bond impersonating a diamond smuggler to uncover a plot to destroy a city. Will he be able to keep one step ahead of his nemesis and save the day?

Based on Ian Fleming’s novel of the same name, this thrilling film is about Bond’s battle with his old nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, after discovering he isn’t just a diamond smuggler but is using the diamonds to build a giant laser to destroy Washington DC.

Starring alongside Sean Connery (Dr. No, The Untouchables) is Jill St. John (The Oscar, Who’s Minding the Store?) as Tiffany Casethe, Charles Gray (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, You Only Live Twice) as Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Lana Wood (The Searchers, Best Years Gone) as Plenty O’Toole.

The Port of Dover was used for the scene where Bond swaps identities with Diamond smuggler Peter Franks (Joe Robinson) and makes his escape to France. The Port of Dover has also been used for filming by Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows (2011), Albert’s Memorial (2010) and Missing (2009).

Diamonds Are Forever (1971) premiered in UK cinemas on Thursday 30th December 1971 and can now be purchased on DVD.
