This informative three part documentary series follows national treasure Sir David Jason  on a journey charting his life on screen. He travels across Britain to explore how his career in TV developed, talking to people who inspired and helped him along the way,visiting film locations from some of his most memorable shows.

In Episode 2, David heads to Margate, the setting for the classic Only Fools And Horses episode The Jolly Boys Outing.

In the 3rd episode of the series, Sir David travels to Bethersden in Kent to visit the  legendary Darling Buds of May Farm.

The seaside town of Margate is home to the popular Dreamland amusement park, the Turner Contemporary modern art gallery alongside its harbour and sandy beach areas. Previous filming here includes The Tunnel: Sabotage (2016), The Carer (2016), Coast (2014) and Last Orders (2002)

Bethersden is a small friendly village located just outside of Ashford, Kent, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

David Jason: My Life on Screen starts on Saturday 26th August on Gold at 6pm with episodes 2 and 3 airing on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th August.

The highly popular award winning ITV programme, Long Lost Family returns to TV screens for its seventh series with more heart-breaking stories.

Presenters Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell embark on an emotional journey around the UK, helping to reunite estranged families. The new series filmed segments in Royal Tunbridge Wells and Haysden Country Park in Tonbridge.

Situated in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Tunbridge Wells is a highly popular town full of independent shops and restaurants set alongside the trendy colonnaded Pantiles and the bustling High Street. Previous shows that have filmed in the area include Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year (2016) and Question Time (2016)

Popular for family days out, Haysden Country Park in Tonbridge offers a beautiful countryside setting for a variety of leisure activities. The park plays home to two lakes and is a popular venue for water activities.

The new series of Long Lost Family starts on Wednesday 26th July at 9pm on ITV

BBC Gardeners’ World (2017)

In Episode 16 of the hugely popular BBC Gardeners’ World 2017, presenter and horticultural expert Joe Swift, visits a garden in Dungeness, a large shingle desert on the Kent coast to explore how these challenging conditions can be overcome when designing a garden.

Dungeness is a unique location which includes ramshackle huts as well as two light houses, a historic railway station, two pubs and artist galleries along with a nuclear power station. Previous projects that have filmed there include Walks With My Dog (2017) and Great British Railway Journeys – Series 7 (2016),

The Antiques Roadshow is a popular BBC One show, presented by Fiona Bruce. The show travels across the UK and invites members of the public to bring their antiques and collectables to be examined and evaluated by experts.

Antiques Roadshow has returned to Kent for its 39th Series, visiting Ightham Mote in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Ightham Mote is a 14th century moated manor house located in Sevenoaks. The property has a long and varied history, having been owned by

medieval knights, courtiers to Henry VIII as well as high-society Victorians.

Sevenoaks is a town in West Kent with vibrant shopping streets, architectural treats and historic buildings including Knole Park which is nestled in a medieval deer-park and full of hidden treasures.  The area has welcomed filming from productions such as Rush (2013), Great British Railway Journeys  (2016) and Future Tense: The Story of H.G. Wells (2016)

The episodes will air on BBC One Sunday 7th May 2017 and Sunday 28th May 2017 at 8pm.

Bargain Hunt Christmas Special (2016)

Popular BBC daytime show Bargain Hunt comes to Kent for a festive edition. Charlie Ross presents at the Kent Showground alongside experts Raj Bisram and Richard Madley who assist the two teams in their Christmas shopping. Charlie also pays a visit to Leeds Castle where he learns about the history of Christmas decorations.

The Kent Showground in Detling is near the county town of Maidstone. The event venue sits on over 200 acres and hosts the renowned Kent County Show every July as well as fares and conferences. Bargain Hunt (2012) has previously been filmed at the Kent Showground.

Set in 500 acres on the outskirts of Maidstone, is the beautiful Leeds Castle which boasts stunning period rooms, gardens, a moat, woodlands, maze with shell grotto and an aviary. A popular film location, Leeds Castle has previously been used by projects such as The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (2016), Gadget Man (2014) and Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949).

The Bargain Hunt Christmas Special filmed in Kent will air on Friday 9th December 2016 at 12:15 on BBC One. Leeds Castle will also feature in the second Christmas episode on Friday 16th December at 12:15 on BBC One.

Grand Designs: House of the Year (2016)

Grand Designs: House of the Year is a Channel 4 property where presenter Kevin McCloud explores homes in the running for the RIBA House of the Year Award, focusing on properties that create space from the smallest of sites.

In episode three of the new series, the team visit North Vat House at Dungeness which blends beach living and high architecture. Although the exterior looks compact, the interior is open planned with a modern design and breath-taking views of the shingle beaches and ocean at Dungeness.

Dungeness is an expanse of shingle beach with many ramshackle huts as well as extremely modern residences, two lighthouses, a historic train station, two pubs and artist galleries along with a nuclear power station. Projects previously filmed here include Great British Railway Journeys – Series 7 (2016), The Poison Tree (2012) and EastEnders (2007).

This episode of Grand Designs: House of the Year featuring Dungeness will air on Thursday 8th December at 21:00 on Channel 4.

Coast Vs Country is Channel 4’s brand new property series from the creators of A Place in the Sun, helping house hunters find their dream property either by the sea or in the countryside.

The series is presented by interior designer, Kerr Drummond and buying expert and current face of A Place in the Sun, Sara Damergi.

Kent features throughout the series including Thanet locations Broadstairs & Viking Bay, Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay, Margate, Ramsgate, as well as Canterbury and Herne Bay.

The Thanet area boasts the beautiful coastal towns of Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate which has sandy bays, parks and open spaces, galleries and amusements. Thanet has been used for filming by productions such as The Lady in the Van (2015) and Eastenders (2015).

Herne Bay is a seaside town which has a pier and shingle beach and is set just outside of the historic City of Canterbury. Previous productions which have filmed in the area include Rustom (2016), Terry and Mason’s Great Food Trip (2015) and Got To Dance (2012).

The Kent episodes will air on Channel 4 on:

Secrets of Great British Castles (2016)

Secrets of Great British Castles returns for a second series, where historian Dan Jones explores the turbulent history behind Britain’s castles. Exploring the secrets behind the castles, Dan uncovers stories of intrigue, drama, romance, rebellion, and murder.

Between May and June 2016, the production team filmed at Leeds Castle where Dan Jones delves into its history, seen and unseen, such as the hidden 13th Century bathhouse built for Edward I. For the first time visitors will be able to hear about top secret letters between Winston Churchill and Geoffrey Lloyd, Minister in charge of the Secret Petroleum Warfare Department, detailing fascinating World War II plans that had their inception at Leeds Castle.

Set in the outskirts of the county town of Kent, Maidstone is the beautiful Leeds Castle which is set over 500 acres and boasts stunning period rooms, gardens, a moat, woodlands, maze with shell grotto and an aviary boasts medieval themed rooms. Leeds Castle has previously been used as a film location by film The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (2016), Gadget Man (2014) and Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949).

The Leeds Castle episode of Secrets of Great British Castles airs on Channel 5 at 20:00 on Friday 25th November 2016.

Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year is the annual competition searching for the nation’s best landscape painter. The artists compete for the chance to win the acclaimed title, win a £10,000 commission for the National Trust’s art collection and £500 of art materials from Cass Art.

The series is presented by Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner and the judges are award-winning artist Tai Shan Schierenberg, independent curator Kathleen Soriano and art historian Kate Bryan.

In June and July 2016, the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year production team visited Kent where they filmed the first heat at Scotney Castle. The semi-final in Margate at the Harbour Arm by the Turner Contemporary gallery. Filming in Margate was the first time the production had filmed on location at a non-National Trust property.

Scotney Castle is a National Trust property set in beautiful Tunbridge Wells countryside. The location boasts a spectacular country house, romantic garden and 14th century moated castle. Scotney Castle has previously welcomed filming from BBC drama Hunted (2012).

The seaside town of Margate has a sandy beach, arcades, Dreamland amusement park, shops and restaurants, a cutting edge creative scene plus the renowned Turner Contemporary gallery. Margate has been used as a film location by productions including  The Carer (2016), The Tunnel: Sabotage (2016) and Coast (2014).

Episode 4 of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year was filmed at Scotney Castle and will air on Tuesday November 1st 2016 at 20:00 on Sky Arts channel 121.

The semi-final was filmed in Margate and can be seen on Tuesday November 22nd 2016 at 20:00 on Sky Arts channel 121.

Books That Made Britain – Writers of Rye (2016)

Books That Made Britain is a BBC series which explores how books have portrayed the different regions they are set in.

An upcoming episode explores the Writers of Rye and presenter Damian Barr discovers how the Sussex town has inspired many writers, and continues to have a literary influence to this day.

The production visited nearby Romney Marsh in Kent in July 2016 to film presenter pieces to camera and general views.

Romney Marsh covers around 100 square miles from Rye to Hythe and is renowned for its unique natural beauty, unspoiled countryside, diverse wildlife and extensive coastline. The Romney Marsh area has been used as a film location for The Honourable Woman (2014), Parade’s End (2012) and Dr Syn: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh (1964).

Books That Made Britain – Writers of Rye will air on Sunday 16th October at 15:45 on BBC One South East.
