Don’t Tell the Bride is the popular BBC Three series where a couple is given £12,000 for their dream wedding, but there is a catch – the bride cannot be involved and has to hand every detail of the wedding over to the groom, including the all-important dress. With just three weeks to organise a perfect wedding, emotions are guaranteed to run high. Will the brave brides be happy with the weddings?
Now in its seventh series, Don’t Tell The Bride follows Northfleet couple Kallie and Grantt as the groom organises a wedding which he thinks his bride-to-be would like, and the bride looks at what her dream wedding would be. Teacher Grantt arranges an elaborate fairytale themed wedding while his science student Kallie wants a traditional wedding, will the bride approve? Throughout their journey they visit many Kent locations including Gravesend, Darenth Country Park as well as wedding locations in Ashford, Biddenden, Tenterden and Maidstone.
Gravesend is on the south bank of the River Thames and has a cast iron pier, promenade and high street as well as international links at the nearby Ebbsfleet International station. Gravesend has welcomed other productions such as Piggy (2012), Britain’s First Photo Album (2012) and Ashley Banjo’s Secret Street Crew (2012).
Ashford is a market town which lies on the River Stour and has many shops, eateries, and a designer outlet shopping centre with beautiful countryside only a short drive away. Ashford and surrounding areas has featured in productions including The Secret Removers (2012), Cowboy Traders (2012) and Emma (2009).
Maidstone is the county town of Kent which lies on the River Medway. The town has busy shopping areas, parks, nearby stunning countryside and attractions such as Kent Life and Leeds Castle. Maidstone has been featured on programmes such as DIY SOS: The Big Build (2013), Sarah Beeny’s Selling Houses (2013) and The Maidstone Studios has hosted filming for TV productions such as Later…With Jools Holland (2013), Take Me Out (2010 – 2013) and The Biggest Loser (2012).
