MobLand (2025) is a British crime drama series following two warring crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza, a street-smart “fixer” tasked with preventing an all-out gang war.

Created by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy (2019-2022), The Day of the Jackal), the series stars Tom Hardy (Oliver Twist (2007), Inception) as Harry Da Souza, Pierce Brosnan (Die Another Day (2002), The World is Not Enough (1999)) as Conrad Harrigan, Joanne Froggatt (Liar (2017-2020), Still Life (2013)) as Jan Da Souza, Lara Pulver (Maternal, The Split) as Bella Harrigan, Anson Boon (Pistol (2022), 1917) as Eddie Harrigan and Helen Mirren (Inkheart (2008), Last Orders (2002)) as Maeve Harrigan.

Production visited Kent to film at the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm on the Romney Marsh. Sadly, this scene did not appear to make the final cut – but let us know if you spot it!

The Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm is located on the Romney Marsh between Lydd and Rye. The 26 wind turbines, each 115 metres (377 ft) high, are distributed over an area of 1.5 sq miles. Other productions to have filmed there include Prime Target (2025), Electric Dreams: Crazy Diamond (2017) and The Honourable Woman (2014).

Prime Target (2025) is an eight-part miniseries following the story of genius math postgraduate Edward Brooks, who is attempting to find a pattern in prime numbers that would grant him access to every computer in the world.

The series is directed by Brady Hood (Top Boy (2019-2022), Great Expectations) and stars Leo Woodall (One Day, The White Lotus) as Edward Brooks and Quintessa Swindell (Black Adam, Voyagers) as Taylah Sanders, the NSA officer tasked with keeping him safe.

The production visited Kent to film on the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle for Episode 6 and at Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm on the Romney Marsh for the confrontation scene between Taylah and Jane (Martha Plimpton) in the episode. Additionally, drone shots of the Eurotunnel entrance were taken from the Folkestone White Horse.

The Channel Tunnel is a 31 mile rail tunnel linking Folkestone to Europe. It was one of the main settings for the programme The Tunnel (2013-2017) and recently featured in Series 2 of Apple TV’s Invasion (2023).

The Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm is located on Romney Marsh between Lydd and Rye. The 26 wind turbines, each 115 metres (377 ft) high, are distributed over an area of 1.5 sq miles. The Honourable Woman (2014) and Electric Dreams: Crazy Diamond (2017) also feature the farm.

The Honourable Woman (2014)

This BBC Two political thriller focuses on Nessa Stein (Gyllenhaal), a young woman who inherits her Zionist father’s weaponry business and gradually changes its purpose to laying data cables between Israel and the West Bank. As she continues to promote reconciliation between the Israelis and the Palestinians, she inevitably finds herself in the middle of a political maelstrom.

The eight part drama was written and directed by BAFTA recipient Hugo Blick (Up in Town, Sensitive Skin, The Shadow Line) and stars an award winning cast, including Maggie Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko, Secretary, The Dark Knight), Lubna Azabal (Incendies, Body of Lies), Eve Best (The King’s Speech, Much Ado About Nothing), Andrew Buchan (Broadchurch, Nowhere Boy), Janet McTeer (Parade’s End, Tumbleweeds), Tobias Menzies (Casino Royale, Game of Thrones), Genevieve O’Reilly (Episodes, Spooks), Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd, The Boat That Rocked) and Stephen Rea (V for Vendetta, The Shadow Line).

In the summer of 2013, The Honourable Woman crew spent 2 days filming at several locations in the Romney Marsh area, including a cottage in New Romney, Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm, and Dengemarsh Road.

Romney Marsh in East Kent is a unique landscape of over 100 square miles of woodland, wetlands as well as sand and shingle shores. Many productions have taken advantage of this stunning area including Ginger and Rosa (2012), Great Expectations (2011) and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries – Natural Causes (2006).

The Honourable Woman starts on BBC Two on Thursday July 3rd 2014 at 21:00.
