Love Again (2023) is a remake of the successful 2016 German-language rom-com SMS Fuer Dich, based on the book written by Sofie Cramer. It tells the story of a young woman who is heartbroken by the death of her fiancé and sends text messages to his old number which, unbeknownst to her, has been reassigned. The messages are received by a single guy across town, and he is so moved by her messages that the two form a connection.

The film is directed by Jim Strouse (People Places Things, The Incredible Jessica James) and stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas (The Matrix  Resurrections, The White Tiger) as Mira, Sam Heughan (Outlander, The Spy Who Dumped Me) as Rob, Russell Tovey (Flesh and Blood (2020), The Good Liar) as Billy Brooks, and singer Céline Dion, who also composed new music for the film.

Production visited Kent to film at Home Farm in Swale, which doubles for Mira’s parent’s home, where she stays after the unexpected death of her fiancé.

Home Farm is a colonial style American homestead, with veranda’s overlooking the countryside bordered by woods. It is particularly popular for photoshoots, but has also been featured in The Current War (2019), Juliet, Naked (2018) and The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2017).

Love Again (2023) was released in UK Cinemas on Friday 12th May 2023 and is available to stream on Amazon.

Tuesdays and Fridays (2021)

Varun (Anmol Dhillon) and Sia (Jhataleka Malhotra) do not trust relationships completely because of their upbringing. They try to figure out a way to live with their commitment issues by being a couple only on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Directed and written by Taranveer Singh (Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, Anni Dya Mzaak Ae by Whistle) the romantic comedy stars acting newcomer Anmol Dhillon as Varun and Jhataleka Malhotra (Femina Miss India) as Sia in the lead roles, supported by Zoa Morani (Yeh Crazy Dil, Bhaag Johnny) as Kajal and Niki Walia (Puncch Beat) as Dr. Radhika Malhotra.

Production filmed in Danemore Park for part of the filming. The house plays the role of a community home ran by Nimmi (Anuradha Patel), the mum of lead character Vahun Sarin. Various key scenes in the story take place at the house including one scene set during a fireworks party.

Danemore Park is a Grade II listed Georgian country house in 80 acres, with stable block, woodland and long driveway in the district of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The town is known for its Georgian and Victorian architecture, a shopping centre, bars, restaurants, and live music scene. Previous productions to visit the area include Catastrophe Series 4 (2019) and The Royals (2016-2018).

Tuesdays and Fridays was released on Netflix UK on Thursday 15th July 2021 after a delayed release due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This comedy follows the life of Rupert (Sandy Batchelor), a struggling actor with multiple personality disorder and his three identities that compete for control after he earns the lead role in a West End play and meets Stevie (Daisy Keeping), the production’s makeup artist, who shows a romantic interest in him.

Rupert, Rupert and Rupert was written by Mick Sands (Nazi Vengeance, The Holly Cane Experiment) and directed by Tom Sands (The Holly Cane Experiment, False Witness) and stars Sandy Batchelor (The Fall of the Krays, False Witness), Daisy Keeping (Neverlake, Humans (2016)), Adam Astill (All The Money in the World, World’s End) and Ben Porter (School for Seduction, Somers Town).

Areas in Royal Tunbridge Wells were used for filming, including Brook Road, where Stevie lives and holds a garden party. The exterior of Gusta Café is shown when Rupert’s agent walks out with a coffee. The alleyway between Prospect Road and London Road in Southborough, Tunbridge Wells was also used for filming.

A historic town with a lot of character, Royal Tunbridge Wells has also been used for filming for the musical Half a Sixpence (1967), specifically The Pantiles, a parade of shops with old-style Georgian architecture. Gusta is a popular Italian café and restaurant in the busy town centre.

Rupert, Rupert and Rupert was released on Friday 26th April 2019 and can be streamed on Amazon Prime.

High End Yaariyaan is the story of three friends Karanvir (Jassie Gill), Manga (Ranjit Bawa) and Sachin (Ninja) who attend college and share a flat in London. The film documents their complex relationships and romantic pursuits.

The three friends played by  Jassie Gill (Mr & Mrs 420 Returns, Sargi), Ranjit Bawa (Khido Khundi, Bhalwan Singh) and Ninja (Channa Mereya) are accompanied by love interests Navneet Kaur Dhillon(Amavas, Ambarsariya ) as Seerat, Neet Mahal (Dulla Vaily, Hard Kaur) as Pooja and Musskan Sethi (Paisa Vasool) as Mandy.

High End Yaariyaan is directed and produced by Pankaj Batra (Sajjan Singh Rangroot, Channa Mereya). Fellow producers include Dinesh Auluck (Goreyan Nu Daffa Karo, Jatt & Juliet 2), Sandeep Bansal (Bikkar Bai Sentimental) and Manmeet Bindra (Dangar Doctor Jelly, Kaashi Amarnath).

Production used various locations in Herne Bay during filming. The Pier, Beach, Clocktower and Central Bandstand are featured throughout. Cobham Hall and grounds doubled as a London College which Karanvir, Manga and Sachin attend.

Cobham Hall is a private school set in a historic house located in 150 acres of Grade II listed parkland. Features include a stunning ball room, library, cobbled courtyards, formal gardens, water towers, modern classrooms and sports facilities, including a swimming pool.  Previous productions to film here include Wild Child (2008) and Bleak House (2005).

Herne Bay is a coastal resort in Kent which is home to the world’s first free-standing purpose-built clock tower. Nearby attractions include the Pier, beach, Reculver Country Park and Wildwood.  Big Bad World (2013) and You Are Whole (2016) have previously filmed here.

High End Yaariyaan was released in the UK on Friday 22 February 2019.

Juliet, Naked (2018)

Juliet, Naked (2018), starring Ethan Hawke, Rose Byrne and Chris O’Dowd, is a warm, smart and funny adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel of the same name and features an obsessive rock fan, his long-standing girlfriend and the mysterious rocker he idolises.

Starring Rose Byrne (Bad Neighbours 1 & 2, Peter Rabbit) as Annie, Ethan Hawke (Training Day, Before Sunrise) as rock star Tucker Crowe and Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids, Moone Boy) as Duncan.

Home Farm in Swale was previously used in André Øvredals The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2017). Filming for Juliet, Naked at the American-style Home Farm took place in 2015 where the house and grounds were used.

Filming also took place in Ramsgate, which is a popular filming area and has been used in several films and TV series such as Hard Sun (2018) and The Tunnel: Sabotage (2016). Further scenes were also filmed on Viking Bay beach in Broadstairs, which recently featured in feature films Hurricane (2018) and The Lady in The Van (2015).

Juliet, Naked is due to be released in the UK in cinemas on 2nd November 2018.

Mubarakan is an upcoming romantic comedy which follows the lives of identical twins, Charan and Karan Singh who are deeply in love with Sweety and Nafisa. When Karan’s family are insistent on his marrying Binkle, the daughter of a very wealthy family, he persuades them  to offer  Charan as a groom instead. Unfortunately, Charan is equally determined to marry the love of his life, Nafisa.

The film was written by Rupinder Chahal (Love Punjab, Chak Juwana) and Rajesh Chawla (Dehleez, Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene) and directed by Anees Bazmee (Welcome back, No Entry: Pudhe Dhoka Aahey). The prestigious Bollywood cast is led by Arjun Kapoor (Half girlfriend, Ki & Ka) who, not for the first time, plays both brothers and supported by Anjil Kapoor (Fanney Khan, Welcome back) Ileana D’Cruz (Rustom, Happy Ending), Athiya Shetty (Hero) and Neha Sharma (Tum Bin 2, Xuan Zang)

The production filmed scenes at the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara temple in Gravesend. The Sikh temple has 5 elaborate domes inspired by the Golden Temple at Amritsa. It also boasts hand crafted marble walls and stained glass windows.

Gravesend is located the south bank of the River Thames and is well known for its pier, promenade and high street as well as international links at the nearby Ebbsfleet International station. Previous productions to have visited the area include Doctor Strange (2016).

Mubarakan will be released in cinemas on 28th July 2017.

The Good Night (2008)

This romantic comedy, is the first movie written and directed by Jake Paltrow (Young Ones Boardwalk Empire) ,and is an adaptation of 2006 French film “La science des rêves”. The movie is set in London and New York, where a former pop star who now writes commercial jingles for a living, experiences a mid-life crisis.

The film stars the director’s sister Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man Series, Se7en) , as well as Penélope Cruz (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Vanilla Sky) Martin Freeman (Sherlock, The Hobbit), Danny DeVito (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, L.A. Confidential) and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz).

The dream sequences were filmed at Capel Manor House in Horsmonden, Kent. The house was built in 1970, on the site of the old Capel Manor, which had been well known as a residence of Jane Austen.

The Good Night was released in cinemas in January 2008 and is now available to buy on DVD.
