Teen Mom UK (2016-) is back for its sixth series. The UK’s spin off from the hit American TV show Teen Mom, is a reality show which focuses on young mothers and how they deal with pregnancy, children, family and their day to day lives. The new series continues to be full of drama as it follows Amber Butler and Steven Rankine as they take the next steps in their relationship, as well as Shannon Wise’s exciting gender reveal party.
Filming for one of the upcoming episodes took place in Margate, where one of the teen moms takes a trip to the beach with her partner before the birth of her second child. The show journals their holiday in Margate.
The series started on MTV UK on Wednesday 24th July 2019 at 8pm. Margate will feature in a later episode airing sometime in September 2019. The first episode can still be viewed on MTV player and on NowTV.

The Current War (2019) is an upcoming historical feature and depicts the infamous race between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, deciding which form of electric current will be powering the modern world.
The Current War features the Kentish location of Home Farm in Swale, a colonial style weather boarded villa. The exterior doubling for Edison’s residence.

Making Noise Quietly (2019) is a trilogy showing the effects of war on the lives of ordinary people. The drama follows three main stories with the themes of friendship, grief and peace amid the ravages of war.
The first story is that of conscientious objector Oliver and painter Eric, meeting for a picnic in Kent in the summer of 1945. Over the course of the segment, the two begin to understand each other’s very different perspectives regarding the war.
Part two jumps forward in time to the Falklands war in 1982, when a naval officer visits a mother to tell her that her son has died in the conflict.
The third segment is centred on former soldier, Alan and his young son, Sam, as they meet concentration camp survivor Helene in the Black Forest of Germany in 1986.
Production also filmed at Ightham Mote which is a 14th century moated manor house located in Sevenoaks and was owned by medieval knights, courtiers to Henry VIII as well as high-society Victorians. Sevenoaks with its many stately homes is a popular filming location and hosted productions like Mary Queen of Scots (2019) and Vanity Fair (2018).
Making Noise Quietly first screened at the Lake’s Main House theatre on Sunday 1st July 2018 to raise money for the theatre’s work with young people. It was released in UK cinemas on Friday 19th July 2019.

The show was adapted for the screen by Stephenie Meyer, the author of Twilight, and stars Emma Greenwell (Shameless US, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Olivia Munn (The Predator, X-Men: Apocalypse) and Adrian Lester (Mary Queen of Scots, Riviera).
The Port of Dover was used in the series when production filmed inside Cruise Terminal Two, outside quayside and along Cruise Terminal 3 (the Western Harbour Arm). Footage was centred around the principle character taking a ferry from Dover.

The Flood (2019) follows the story of an asylum seeker Haile (Ivanno Jeremiah) as he makes a perilous journey to England with his newfound friends Faiz (Peter Singh) and Reema (Mandip Gill). Wendy (Lena Headey), a hardened immigration officer hears his story and must decide his fate. His dangerous trip is recounted through various emotional flashbacks.
In the film, Joss Bay doubles as an Italian shoreline as Haile crosses the ocean in a boat full of other refugees and lands on the beach. The toilet block also doubles as Italian Port toilets. The Port of Ramsgate is featured as the lorry carrying Haile pulls into passport control.
Joss Bay is a Blue Flag sandy bay in Thanet. Facilities include lifeguards, cafe, parking, toilets, deckchairs, windbreaks, parasols, sun beds and a Kids Corner with bouncy castle and trampolines. It is home to the Joss Bay Surf School. Other productions to film here include Coast Vs Country (2016) and various music videos.

This British crime thriller tells the story of gang member Cain Burgess (Scott Adkins) who evades his prison sentences to take revenge on those who have wronged him. Believing other people are the reason for his misfortunes, he fights his way back to confront his enemies.
A large portion of this film was set in Canterbury Prison, where several of the fight scenes were filmed.
Canterbury Prison has been closed since 2013 and was bought by Canterbury Christ Church University and is due to be extended as part of their campus. The authenticity of the Victorian prison is maintained, making it an ideal location for the crime and thriller genre. Other productions that have previously visited Canterbury Prison for filming include Wayfaring Stranger (2008) and Windmill Boy (2006).
The film was released on DVD on Monday 17th June 2019 and is now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Google Movies.

All new prime-time game show series The Family Brain Games, follows eight families as they enter into the specially designed Games Lab to compete in a series of challenges. The families’ mental agility will be tested through observation and analysis by neuroscientist. In the grand final, only one family will be crowned winner of The Family Brain Games. Presenting the show is Dara Ó Briain (Mock the Week, The Look of Love).
Production visited Discovery Park in Sandwich, where the set for the Games Lab was built for the series.
Discovery Park is the former headquarters of the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. It offers large office complexes, scientific laboratories, warehouses and plants, and it is located in Sandwich, a town north of Deal on the Stour Estuary. This location has previously hosted productions for Baptiste (2019), The Lost Commando Raid (2018), and The Tunnel: Sabotage (2016).
Episode One of The Family Brain Games will air on BBC Two on Monday 17th June 2019 at 8pm. The eight-part series will be stripped over two weeks, with four episodes airing per week Monday to Thursday.

In this new BBC 2 series, four families face the challenge of living more than 100 years in the past, attempting to make a living in a fishing community in Llanddwyn, an uninhabited island off the coast of Anglesey. There will be many challenges for the families, including extreme weather conditions, skills shortages and not least family conflict.
In various episodes, the series features the Barker family from Kent. The production visited Herne Bay to interview Clive and Cheryl Barker, before moving them to the remote island.

Channel 4’s six-part spoof comedy cop show, Year of the Rabbit (2019-2021), is set in Victorian London and follows a group of detectives, including Detective Inspector Rabbit (Matt Berry), ‘a hardened booze-hound’, his partner Wilbur Strauss (Freddie Fox), and the country’s first female law enforcer, Mabel Wisbech (Susan Wokoma). Together the trio fight crime, and bring justice to the streets of the East End.
Episode One of The Thames: Britain’s Great River With Tony Robinson will air on Tuesday 4th June 2019 at 8pm on Channel 5, and subsequent episodes can be seen every Tuesday for the next four weeks.
As Kent features on the last leg of the river, it is likely to be featured in Episode 4 on Tuesday 25th June 2019.
